📅 Important Dates

• Art entries accepted between: March 1 -May 31, 2026
• Acceptance results: By June 25, 2026
• Acceptance list to be posted on BMM2026 website: June 25th, 2026
• Deadline to send disclaimer form: July 5, 2026
• Deadline for accepting selected artwork physically by mail: July 25th, 2026

Notification of acceptance letter will be sent along with further exhibition details.

🌎 Who Can Participate?

• This competition is open to all artists 17 years of age and older who reside in the North America only.
• The participating artist must be a current member of local Maharashtra Mandal.

🖼️ Artwork Requirements

• Participant may submit up to three entries.
• All entries will be first juried from digital images.
• Entries must be original, entirely the work of the applicant and created after August 2023. Work must have been done without the supervision of instructor. Copies of existing artwork are not eligible.
• Participants are solely responsible for ensuring that any copyrighted material used for reference complies with copyright laws.
• All artwork must be framed except Gallery wrapped canvas painting which can be submitted without frame.
• All artwork – framed or unframed – must be ready for hanging, with secure wire installed on the back.
• Maximum frame size may not exceed 40” either direction.
• Selected entries will be notified by June 25th, 2026.

📝 File Format, Image Quality & Submission

• Name your file as: FirstNameLastName_Title.jpg EX: RohiniKeskar_Krishana.jpg
• Accepted formats: .jpg
• File size should not exceed 3MB.
• Image resolution 300 DPI (100 PPI).
• Image is 1800 pixels on the longer side.

🧑‍⚖️ Judging Criteria

Your audition entry will be assessed by an esteemed panel of independent judge artists — the very source of the tradition! Judges’ decisions will be final.

Artwork will be judged on:

• Creativity and Originality: The uniqueness of the concept and how the artist brings a fresh perspective to the subject.
• Technical Skill and Craftsmanship: The mastery of the medium, including, for example, brushwork,, material handling, and attention to detail.
• Composition and Design: The effective arrangement of elements (line, color, space, form) for balance, unity, and visual impact.
• Adherence to Theme: How well the artwork interprets and communicates the specific theme or prompt of the competition.
• Overall Impact/Expression: The emotional resonance, aesthetic appeal, and the ability of the piece to engage the viewer.
• Artist Statement: Clarifying concept and intent behind the work.
