सिॲटल् येथे होणाऱ्या बी एम एम अधिवेशन २०२६ च्या अंतर्गत उत्तर अमेरिकेतील नाट्यकर्मी, रंगकर्मी, आणि नाट्यरसिकांसाठी सादर करीत आहोत मराठी एकांकिका स्पर्धा “नाट्यसृजन”!

मराठी माणूस कुठेही गेला तरी त्याचं नाटकवेड जोपासत असतो. नाट्यकला ही बहुअंगी, बहुपेडी अभिव्यक्ती आहे. लेखन, दिग्दर्शन, अभिनय, नेपथ्य, प्रकाश, ध्वनी, इ. अनेक सृजनशील ऊर्मींना साकार करणारी! एकांकिका हा त्यातला एक आव्हानात्मक आविष्कार असतो. प्रेक्षकांपर्यंत उत्तम कलाकृती पोहोचवायची पण मर्यादित चौकटीत बसवून!

हे आव्हान पेलू शकणारी अनेक गुणवंत कलावंत मंडळींच्या उत्स्फूर्त आणि कसदार सहभागाची आम्ही उत्सुकतेने वाट पाहतो आहोत. स्पर्धेचे नियम, अटी व इतर तपशील खाली नमूद केले आहेत. चला तर मग… लवकरात लवकर आपली प्रवेशिका पाठवा! आपल्या उत्साहाने बहरू दे “नाट्यसृजन”!

RULES & REGULATIONS

Type and Number of Plays

  • Each short play should be in Marathi and be a maximum of 45 minutes long, with an additional 15 minutes (10 for setup, 5 for teardown) allocated for set up and tear down of props, set, sound and lights requirements. Please be advised that this is a hard limit; we will not accept plays that run longer than 45 minutes.
  • Each submitting organization may submit up to 2 plays for review, however, only one can be selected.
  • A maximum of 3 plays will be selected to perform during the convention. There will be one performance on each day of the convention (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday).
  • Participants are free to choose the theme of their plays keeping in mind the audience.
  • An adequately sized stage with wings will be provided for the performances.
  • Participants of the selected ekankikas are required to register for BMM 2026.

Registration And Submission Process

  • Each submitting organization must provide a single representative as a liaison.
  • The entry should be submitted using the form at the bottom of this page  by filling in the required information.
  • Please note that formal written permission from the playwright is ESSENTIAL to perform the play. This can simply be an email from the playwright granting permission to stage the play.
  • Please take note of the following important dates:
    • Initial interest and registration by April 18, 2025(the earlier the better).
    • Participants will submit videos of their entries for judging. The final date to submit the playwright authorization, video of the play and script is October 20, 2025.
    • Final list of selected ekankikas will be published by Feb 7, 2026.
  • Once your entry is submitted you will receive an email with a unique Submission ID. To complete your entry, you will be required to provide an unlisted YouTube video link of the entire play and send a softcopy of the script as an attachment. You will send this by email to ekankika@bmmseattle2026.org with the Submission ID mentioned in the subject line.
  • All decisions about the schedule and sequence of the performances will be made by the programming committee and conveyed to you once the logistics are finalized.
  • We will solicit your light and sound requirements after selection. We will send a separate email regarding the required details about light and sound plans.
  • We will not be able to offer any honorarium to you for participating at this time. You are responsible for any and all expenses you incur to stage your play, including but not limited to the expenses toward renting and/or buying props, sets, recording music, playwright’s honorarium, etc.
  • An independent panel of judges will select and award the winning plays. Awards may also be handed out in other categories. The judging will happen prior to the Convention and only the top 3 plays will be performing at the convention.
  • The Video shared by you will be an intellectual property of BMM.

  • Judging Criteria

    • Judging will happen over multiple rounds leading to the final 3 that will be performed during the event. While we are planning for 3 rounds, more rounds may be required depending upon number of submissions. Each round shall have a different group of judges. A Judge shall not be assigned a play where a conflict of interest may arise, such as, close association with the supporting organization.
